Sony Alpha NEX-C3 reviews


Traditionally known as DSLRs, interchangeable lens cameras (ILC) have always promised excellent image quality, speed, and versatility. The 16-megapixel --Sony Alpha NEX-C3-- builds upon the successes of its predecessor the Sony Alpha NEX-C3 sporting a slimmer body and redesigned APS-C sensor. We spent well over a month using the NEX-C3 as our --primary-- camera for product shoots, trades shows, hands-on videos, and vacations, and were blown away by its performance as both a versatile still snapper and a powerful video camera. Like all mirror less cameras, there's also no optical viewfinder,

 nor is there a traditional hot shoe. Sony Alpha NEX-C3 enabling connectivity with a dedicated external microphone and a limited variety of external flashes, including the compact strobe that ships in the box. If you currently own an NEX-3 or NEX-5, there really isn't any need to upgrade to the NEX-C3. The slim design offers another advantage that enthusiasts will appreciate—the ability to use lenses for other camera systems via third-party adapters. It’s easy to find an focus rangefinder and SLR lenses-- Because the NEX-C3 has no eye-level viewfinder, you frame your images using the articulating 3-inch rear LCD.

Aside from the metal top plate, the NEX-C3 has a polycarbonate plastic body. A modest bump on the front right side serves as a grip, but it’s not perfectly suited for holding the camera at eye-level. Extending the LCD away from the body of the camera helps with the grip, as you’ll be able to place your thumb on the back of the body without obstructing the LCD. On the top panel, there’s a dedicated Movie Record button, a button to switch to Playback Mode, an On/Off Switch, and the Shutter Release.

The playback button remains on the top panel leaving the rear to the control wheel and two soft keys. The NEX-C3 provides good opportunities for customization, the bottom soft key and the left, right, and centre control wheel buttons can all be assigned to custom functions.
